Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) supports undergraduate research and creative activities from all UCI schools and academic disciplines. UROP provides assistance to students throughout the undergraduate research experience via: proposal writing, developing research plans, awarding grants to fund research projects, scholarly journal writing, and encouraging students to present their research during the UCI Undergraduate Research Symposium.

The School of Biological Sciences encourages students enrolled in undergraduate research, who meet the eligibility requirements, to present their research to the academic community by participating in the Excellence in Research Program. Students who complete the Excellence in Research program are rewarded with Excellence in Research in Biological Sciences and will have their respective research papers published in the program’s journal.
